Illustrative operating cases

Two cases. Every handover explained.

01Illustrative scenario

Scheduled imaging with a linked report

A clinician requests an imaging procedure and the department returns its report to the encounter.

Prepare first
Procedure and modality catalogue, scheduling resource, reporting role and selected RIS/PACS mapping.
  1. Create and schedule the imaging request with the clinical question and preparation.
  2. Verify patient, encounter and accession identifiers at examination.
  3. Link the accepted study source and authored diagnostic report to the original request.
  4. Release the report to the referring team and document review and follow-up.

Acceptance evidence

The request, accepted imaging source and report belong to the same person and care context.

02Illustrative scenario

Delayed PACS study with a report addendum

An accepted external imaging connection is unavailable and the reporting clinician later adds findings.

Prepare first
Accepted downtime procedure, original accession, interface owner and report amendment policy.
  1. Keep the request and accession identity while using the agreed downtime process.
  2. After recovery, reconcile the delayed study to the correct person and encounter.
  3. The reporting clinician reviews the study and records the addendum with its author and reason.
  4. Communicate any relevant finding and preserve the original report and receiving-team responsibility.

Acceptance evidence

Recovery produces no unmatched study, and both report versions and communication are retained.

04

Worked operating scenarios

When the normal path changes.

Study linked to the wrong encounter

Hold clinical distribution, compare source identifiers and have an authorized owner correct the mapping before release.

RIS or PACS unavailable

Use the accepted downtime procedure, retain request identities and reconcile delayed studies and reports after recovery.

05

Delivery boundary

Know what connects, and what needs approval.

Radiology request and report context is separate from image storage, viewing, acquisition hardware and RIS/PACS integration. Agree each included component and test DICOM study linkage and report exchange where selected.

What does MANSOQ Radiology cover?

Verified radiology requests, departmental operation and reporting; RIS/PACS interfaces have separate delivery scope. Refer & schedule: Create the imaging request with the clinical question, patient, encounter and requested procedure. Confirm modality, department availability and required preparation before the scheduled examination. Acquire & identify: Connect departmental work to the request and accession information. When PACS is selected, verify patient, study and encounter identifiers before accepting the linked imaging study. Interpret & report: Attach the diagnostic report to the correct clinical request. Confirm author, report status and clinical communication responsibility; agree the external reporting workflow if interpretation occurs in another system. Communicate & amend: Return the report to the authorized care team, document critical findings through the approved pathway and retain addenda with their reason and owner. Track outstanding reports at handover.

What setup data does Radiology need?

Configure the selected release using the account templates, then validate references and preview before import. Required planning and setup files include Services & department catalogue (services.csv); Assets, devices & hardware (assets_devices.csv); Interface specification (interfaces.csv); Clinical workflow configuration (clinical_workflows.csv); Function settings · scheduling closures (product_settings.csv); Acceptance tests (uat_cases.csv). Each file’s field guide identifies whether it imports setup records or documents a migration/decision.
